Ancient Greek has three classical orders, known as Doric, Ionic and Corinthian, and they can be simply categorized through their complexity: Doric is undecorated, Ionic is decorated, and Corinthian is the most complicated. While heavily under the influence of Roman period, the capitals in Romanesque period appeared in more varied forms, no longer stick to strict categories, and with an overall larger emphasis onto ornamentation because of the more developed architectural theory framework and the specialization. The change in the style and possible reason working behind would indicate a larger change in style in future.
