The painting The School of Athens represents the greater ideas of the renaissance because it brings all the great things from antiquity, most notably Aristotle and Plato into one room. As well as it focuses on the idea of humanism and understanding of greater universal truths, which thinkers of the renaissance found in proportion of human form for example in the Vitruvian man. As well there is a clear emphasis on antiquity, the title of the painting being The School of Athens, so it indicates the rebirth of Greco-Roman classicism as a center point of renaissance architecture.
