The work on the left is the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane by Borromini. The sculpture, on the right is “David” by Bernini. Both works come from the Baroque period, and are both very representative of themes from the period. The work on the left shows emphasizes the Baroque period through it’s use coffered vaults and ovals. The statue of David shows the grandeur of the Baroque period through its perceived movement and focus on drama. The statue is also very decorative, which only adds to the grandeur of the period.
