David by Bernini and San Carlo Alle Quattro Fontane by Borromini are both works from the Baroque period. They exemplify the style’s integration of movement in elements and composition in both the fine arts and architecture. David in a dynamic position with an exaggerated curve to the overall composition further enunciated by the dramatic curves of the fabric. Borromini’s work showcases undulation on its facade as well as ovate shapes in plan creating multiple focuses in the space that that rhythmically pull through the composition.
