Palais Garnier is a typical Beaux Art architecture. It looks like Ancient Greek and Roman architecture, but has other elements like Renaissance, Romanesque or the Baroque. Its silhouette is similar to Roman Pantheon. Palais Garnier is symmetrical with arcuation and has very classical columns. It is more austere down the bottom and has lots of decorative elements on the top, such as festoons and cartouches (common in Baroque style), and Oeil-de-boeuf. It uses marble with a modern iron framework. The Pantheon is also symmetrical with Trabeation and it is much more austere than Palais Garnier.
