The Palais Garnier is a great example of a Beaux-Arts building as it exemplifies characteristics of the style which include symmetry and classical elements. Being an opera house in Paris, this building has a detailed facade and large oeil-de-boeuf windows. Similarly to the Palais Garnier, the Pantheon includes post and lintel construction, has classical columns, and is symmetrical. The Palais Garnier had much more detail and ornamentation, whereas the Pantheon had more basic Doric order columns. The detail and ornamentation in the Palais Garnier included iron framework, engraved entablature, and festoons.
