Week 1 Responses

Response to week one

According to Professor Han, The Vitruvius Triad is composed of firmitatis, utilitatis, and venostasis. Firmitatis, or stability, is the most important component. If a building is not stable and will not last, any other purpose is not significant. After stability I believe venostasis or beauty is the next important. I chose beauty next because I think once a structure is deemed stable, it will be remembered for its beauty or aesthetic appearance. Finally, I believe that utilitatis is the least important because as long as a structure is built well and aesthetically pleasing, it can be used for most purposes.
