I think that Vitruvius’ Triad should be in this order: Firmitatis (stability), venustatis (beauty), then utilitatis (utility). Stability is the most salient because you want the building to be sturdy, thus it needs a good structure. I believe that utility is the least pertinent, because yes it should be functional, but in that time period, I don’t think they’d be wasting time or resources building a structure that wouldn’t be used. Also, utility could fall under stability, and therefore isn’t necessary. Therefore, beauty falls in the middle. The structures should be beautiful to give character and differentiating features.
