I believe that of Vitruvius’ Triad, the order of most to least importance is firmitatis, utilitatis, and venustatis. Stability is the most important point because the foundation and durability of a piece of Architecture allows for longevity of its use and beauty. Utility is the second most important because a building’s function provides more reason for its existence and considers ease of access to the public, which, in turn, is access to potential beauty. Beauty is the least important because it is not required for the other two points, although it can enhance them via aesthetics.
