In my opinion, the most important component of Vitruvius’ triad is Venustatis. My reasoning is that regardless of ones commitment to architecture and building, aesthetic pleasure can be felt. A similar comparison can be drawn with the unanimous popularity of paintings such as Starry Night. Next, I would rank Utilitatis because of the nature of practicality when visiting a building. A person considers and occupies a building for very specific reasons. For example, the reasons one would visit a library vs a stadium are very different. Utility must be understood and considered. Lastly, firmitatis ranks. It does not rank so because it is not important but rather the spectrum of quality it exists on is much more, I believe, of a dichotomy than the others. A building is either safe or not. Structural integrity is quite inarguable.
