Greece orders started out very simple and had specific meaning centered around certain gods and goddesses. Their capitals were much more strict in design compared to the Romanesque capitals, they used standard fluting and had trabeation construction. More focusing on stability and certain rules and guidelines put into place. Romanesque orders were more complex in design, they expanded off Greece orders with their capitals being more ornamented. They used variable fluting and had a construction system based on arches and vaults (arcuation). Their capitals didn’t have as much specific meaning behind them compared to Greece, more focused on beauty and design.
