The designs in Ancient Greece and Rome always follow the rule of classical architecture. In my opinion they stick too much to the rules, Doric Ionic and Corinthian were all different types of the capitals. Romanesque design became more free, without a lot of rules, but critical. They add the ideas and designs with deleting those patterns not needed in ancient Rome.
