Romanesque architecture was very massive where Gothic architecture revolved more around verticality. The Gothic Style often included elements such as ribbed vaults, ogivals, flying butresses, and stained glass among others. The stained-glass was used for both interior lighting and to help the illiterate people learn through pictures. Romanesque architecture included more semi-circular arches, standard butresses and smaller apertures.
