There are many noticeable differences between the romanesque style of architecture and the gothic style. The Romanesque style was known for semi circular arches, thick walls and arcades that contained rows of arches. Romanesque was also known for having groin volts. On the other hand gothic architecture was known for its verticality. Gothic was known for very pointed arches and ribbed vaults.
