Week 3 Response

There are a few main differences between the Romanesque and Gothic period. The biggest one being that the Romanesque period structures were more bulky, with heavy buttresses and semi-circle arch’s. The structures also had wide facades. The gothic period on the other hand was different because ion this time structures were way more slim and less bulky. rib vaults and flying buttresses were implemented to create a more thin structure. lastly one of the big ideas was the Ogival arch that became a staple of the gothic period.
