How does this image resonate with architectural ideals of its related period?
Like the Renaissance period, this image represents the splendor of the mathematical proportion and order previously seen in the times of Ancient Greece and Rome. From our viewpoint, we are looking directly down the center of this hall of simple barrel vaults and classic Roman arches. Other elements from antiquity present in the image are the engaged columns as well as pilasters. As all of the shapes and structural pieces come together in this image, the best mathematic accuracy and proportion is being expressed, the same ideals used on the exterior of buildings built in this era as well.
