This is an image of The School of Athens created by Raphael, it showed the fascination over Classical Rome antiquity. More importantly it celebrated the Age of Humanism and their achievement of knowledge. The Renaissance period was primarily driven by uniformity and proportionality, there would be an odd number of bays and tetra/hexastyle to ensure the motif of symmetry. In the image there are many important mathematicians and philosophers, in a way it shows how this time period will be representative of their eurhythmic ideals. All of this correlates back to the Vitruvian man and the divinity between the universe and man.
