This fresco depicted many different influential figures which combined to represent the marriage of math, art, philosophy, and more. This is reminiscent of the Renaissance which emphasized the importance of mathematical ratios and proportions in architecture. As discussed in class, the painting may have symbolized that we can find the universal truths by ourselves with less help from religion. This relates to the Renaissance in the sense that proportions were thought to be of utmost significance regarding the symmetry and balance of the universe.
