The building on the left is the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane designed by Borromini, renowned Baroque architect. On the right is David, sculpted by Bernini, who was also renowned mostly as a sculptor. They both exemplify the key points of Baroque as Professor Han discussed in class. For example, the sculpture of David captures movement in the swirling nature of his swing and clothes. San Carlo utilized an undulated composition in the entablature to aid the coordination of perspective with the tight space, intending to be viewed up close.
