Both of these works embody the Baroque period. The statue is active, and in motion rather than static. I believe that this could’ve been sculpted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini because he’s renowned for his sculptures and was prominent in the high baroque period. Additionally, at this time, there was a lot of parody between architecture and art, therefore the art work or sculptures is still part of the Baroque period. The work on the left emphasizes oval shapes embedded into the outer facade of the building. Ovals become prominent in this period because they are directional and guide your eye.
