These works are from the Baroque period. The San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane by Borromini, shown on the left, clearly portrays the highly decorative and elaborate nature of the period. The building tries to capture the theme of movement by playing with straight lines, and contains ovals and composites of ovals inside the church. It is also small in size because it is designed to be seen up close, following the theme of coordination of perspectives. On the right, a sculpture by Bernini, the model is in full swing and the garments draped around him accentuate the theme of movement.
