The sculpture on the right is “David” by Bernini. It is supposed to represent an action shot of David throwing a stone at a beast. This is beyond contrapposto, it is not only showing movement, but the animation of the sculpture is also telling a story. On the left is one of the most important buildings made by Borromini the “San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane” in Rome. The façade is modest in size and there are many instances of ovate features throughout the building. For this building there is a balance in motion, seen through the off centeredness of the entrance. Also, very fitting of the Baroque period the perspective in which articulate spaces were seen was important. Due to how narrow the street was, the building was meant to be seen from up close and that is when you would truly capture the movement.
