Bernini’s David and Borromini’s San Carlo Alle Quattro Fontane are both prime examples of the Baroque period. Both the sculpture and the building are extremely ornate and decorated, a marking quality of the Baroque style. The San Carlo Alle Quattro Fontane and the David create movement.  The San Carlo Alle Quattro Fontane waves in the facade, and the David has a contrapposto quality to him, making an “S” shape with his body while throwing a rock. Both creations are meant to be viewed up close, rather than from afar so that one can appreciate and see all of the intricate details.
