On the left is San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane by Francesco Borromini, while on the right is David by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Both are in Baroque style. San Carlo is highly decorative and elaborate with an intense plan despite its small size. There are lots of ovals, including ovate coffers, in San Carlo, which is a key element in the Baroque period. The facade of San Carlo is slightly tilted, intended to be seen much closer. The plan has rhythm. Compared to its static, decorative feature, David is more dramatic, dynamic. David captured a dramatic motion with a dynamic contrapposto, a typical feature of Baroque sculpture.
