Both works were done in Rome, and both the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane and David are Baroque style works. Both show motion, curvature, and drama, and the building specifically emphasizes geometry and oval shapes. Diagonal lines are represented in both, and less emphasis in verticality. Both are composed of marble. With such curvature and decoration on all sides of each work, all is meant to be viewed and seen by spectators rather than just a frontal view.
