I would side more with Didascalo simply because Protopiro was too constricting in his ideas and it did not allow room for freedom. Protopiro only believed in the clean proportional simplicity, which is still an important aspect of a building from an engineering perspective. But Didascalo vouched for the intricate details of a building which shows the character and unique style of the architect. I do not think that the architect should be limited to specific rules, they should be free to do as they please as long as it is not too much.
