In my opinion, I would have to side with Didascolo over Protopiro. While I do agree with some of Protopiro’s thinking, overall I have to go with Didascolo. Protopiro says that simplistic buildings are the most important where mathematics and symmetry is present. This I agree is important and looks good on certain buildings. However, unlike Didascolo, he disagrees with any ornamentation or freedom in an architects build. I side with Didascolo because I think it is wrong to limit an artist of his or her work. Intricate details provide beauty and originality which is important to the viewer and provides information about the architect and how their mind was working through creating a building.
