Despite Protopiro important contributions, I would have to agree with Didascolo. His design philosophy remembered the importance of the basic tenements of design. Protopiro’s value of simplicity and lack of decoration can be excessive but building are built fundamentally for purpose and secondarily for beauty. The distinction between buildings that Didascolo argues for are important and that freedom shouldn’t be limmited.
