Labrouste’s Bibliotheque Nationale is a famous work from the First Industrial Revolution in France. The work is by Henri-Labrouste, who Wanted to establish a modern national style of architecture for France. The classical elements of the Library are the use of arches and columns that establish a clear center. Some of the more modern elements include the inspiration taken from the architecture of the train station, which was a new technology during the era. Also the use of iron allowed for the classic columns to be made thinner to make different proportions.
