Labrouste’s Bibliothèque Nationale is a unique building with elements of both modern and classical eras. The ribbed vaulting, and Ionic columns are classical while the use of iron and steel supports are more modern aspects. This unique hybrid between the two eras created an architectural masterpiece worth analyzing.
