Bibliothèque Nationale is the national library of France designed by French architect Labrouste, who’s known for his Beaux-Art styled works. Bibliothèque Nationale is arguably his most significant building that it is epochal in combining the classical and modern elements of architecture including domes, ribbed vaults, Ionic columns, as well as cast iron. The use of modern elements such as cast iron minimizes the volume of internal support structure, allowing for a much wider space under the classical domes.
