Henri Labrouste is known as one of the most important architects of france during the 19th century. Labrouste uses rationalism, light, classical, and modern elements in his architecture. He uses iron structures as one of his signature pieces. He also uses 16 iron columns, each one foot in diameter, and they are evenly spaced 1 foot apart. There is also natural “zenithal” lighting due to the way the lighting hits the columns. Each column supports their own dome and with its own oculus. Labrouste also uses subtle decorative elements to keep the serenity of the room.
