Labrouste’s Bibliotheque National has elements of both modern and classical design. The building’s classical elements include fluted columns with Corinthian like capitals, coffer in the arches, and a large pediment accompanied with pilasters on the façade of the building. The modern elements include the use of iron as a structural and decorative element, and the large windows that allow for amble natural light.
