Comparing the Palais Garnier to the Roman Pantheon, we can see that it has a base structure that follows the classical style but there are a few additions that separate it from being neoclassical or a revival. The two buildings share a prostyle facade in front, with composite capitals adorning the tops of the columns, as well as the name and dentils going across the front of the frieze. But while the Pantheon stops its ornamentation there, the Palais Garnier continues to add ornamentation from other periods including the oeil-de-boeuf made popular in the Baroque.
