The Palais Garnier is possibly the most famous example of Beaux Arts architecture in Paris. The opera stands in the heart of Paris with vaulted ceilings, buttresses, ornate wall carvings, archways, and the use of stone. We can see an influence from ancient Rome in the Palais Garnier. For example, the Pantheon we see similar uses of symmetry and columns in a classical style. On the other hand, the Pantheon does not have nearly as much ornamentation.
