Much as the architectural style of the Beaux-Arts is epitomized by the Palais Garnier, the Classical can be described using the Flavian Amphitheater. Both buildings were used for entertainment purposes, but for very different classes. The Garnier Opera house is built for a much higher social class than the Colosseum was. This can easily be ascertained just from viewing the aesthetics of the buildings. The Beaux-Arts style of the Garnier oozes opulence as can be seen in, the gold gilding, the grand staircase. The Colosseum, in its own right, was also lavishly decorated for its time. Both were used to celebrate the triumph of the capital cities in which they were built.
