Beaux-Art style is a mixture of classical motifs from other architectural periods and Palais Garnier is one of the most recognizable architecture of its time. Classical Roman architecture had a heavily influence the design of Palais Garnier and classical roman motif can be seen in its columns. Just like the Roman Parthenon, Palais Garnier is an octastyle structure with 8 columns to show the symmetry of the opera house. The fluting on the shaft of columns and the capital on top is very reminiscent if not a copy of Parthenon.
