Palais Garnier is a typical building in Beaux-Arts style that exemplifies many characters of this style such as symmetrical façade and use of classical elements in architecture. Compared to Parthenon in ancient Greece, Palais Garnier is definitely more ornamented with more complex internal structures, additional domes, sculptures and Oeil-de-boeuf. Similar to Palais Garnier, Parthenon follows the symmetry in façade. The columns of Palais Garnier are examples of classical elements in Beaux-Arts style. In Parthenon, the columns are more simple and basic in Doric order. However, in Palais Garnier, the capitals are decorated and the entablature is more complex with dentils.
