The Palais Garnier is one of the most famous works during the Beaux-Arts time and its style represents that of the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane of the Baroque period because of its grandeur and the building’s resemblance of excessive wealth and privilege. Both buildings use heavy ornamentation such as sculptural elements like cartouches and festoons. Although the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane appears to have more curvature in its shape, both buildings possess symmetry and arcuation such as the oil-de-boeuf windows.
