The Palais Garnier is a very solid representation of the Beaux Arts style of architecture in a few aspects. The Opera house arcuated windows and also displays a heavy form of symmetry. The structure is also covered with numerous sculptural elements. When comparing this building to San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane from the Baroque period, there are a few main differences. First, the windows at the San Carlo are much more ovate in comparison to the arcuated windows at the Opera house. Furthermore, the San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane is much less elaborate and built on a much smaller scale than Palais Garnier. Lastly, in my opinion the Palais Garnier is just a much more beautiful structure, which would make sense considering the Beaux Arts style originated from the school that focused on beautiful and fine arts.
