The Beaux Arts period was influenced greatly by characteristics that originated in classical antiquity. When analyzing the Paris Opera House, we see many elements of classical antiquity. For example, columns found in the opera house greatly represent antiquity. Likewise, an entablature and pediment can be found in the opera house. However, the Palais Garnier utilizes iron to form detail and arcuation unique to the Beaux Arts movement.
