Of Le Corbusier’s 5 Points of Architecture, the one that most resonates with me is the use of ribbon windows. I am of the opinion that there can never be too much natural light. Sources of light that are not incandescent bulbs adds a unique aura to a domicile. The natural connection between nature and living accommodations was clearly a point emphasized by Le Corbusier. Ribbon windowing is just one of the ways by which he went about invoking this connection into his architecture. As all who have been to Villa Savoye can attest, there is an abundance of opportunity to bask in natural light; even while inside.
