I find the ribbon windows the most fascinating out of Le Corbusier’s 5 points of Architecture because it allowed more natural light into the buildings rather than artificial light. The long windows permit a sense of openness to the buildings and doesn’t give an individual walking down the street a closed-off feeling of the building which I think is so important for a buildings aesthetic. Also, the ribbon windows explain this notion of keeping the skin and bones separate so in older buildings that had load-bearing couldn’t provide this aesthetic which gave way to a whole new construction strategy when designing a building.
