After thinking about Le Corbusier’s five “Points”, the one that appeals the most to me has to be the fifth point of the roof garden. The roof garden is the most appealing to me because it allows for buildings to achieve great verticality in dense cities while maintaining a sense of nature. The addition of a roof garden grants the roof at the top of an enormous building a purpose other than its insulation feature, but it allows for the growing concrete cities to be reminded that it is growing within the bigger picture of a green, natural world. The addition of this visual element combines natural beauty with a practical function to be utilized for a structural benefit while also be appealing to the eyes.
