Among Le Corbusier’s five points, I feel that the idea of pilotis is the most important. It allows buildings to be higher above ground due to the columns that hold it up. It offers more space on the lower level which is a key point to me. This eliminates the need for a basement due to the extra use of space on the ground level. It also gives the floor held up by the columns a fantastic view which is vital in architectural pieces. Nature is able to blend seamlessly into the house because of this. Overall, pilotis has a great deal of advantages in respect to how the space is used and livened up by nature which is why I feel it is the most important point.
